



Indian Hill 8th grader Ben Warstler extended his string of 1st place cross country finishes to four at the St. Xavier Invitational on September 29th. With victories at Mason (12:29.72), Ross (12:03.34), Milford (11:53.05), and now St. X (11:50.19), Ben continues lowering his season PR's at every meet.

Ben Warstler, a 8th grader at the Indian Hill Middle School won the middle school open race at the Mason Invitational. Ben covered the 3200m course at Corwin Nixon Park in 12:29.72 finishing 26 seconds ahead of the 2nd place runner. Evan Paquette ran the course in 16:00.72 and Noah Wenker in 16:40.92.

enters his 18th year teaching and coaching at Indian Hill. This will be his 3rd year coaching with the Cross Country program. He has also coached Track & Field for 15 years and was the Boys' Basketball coach for 5 years, leading the Braves to the State championship game in 1998.
Coach Haarman earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Xavier University, where he played basketball for the Musketeers earning MVP honors in both his junior and senior seasons. After college, he played professional basketball in the Netherlands. Coach Haarman earned his Masters in Educational Administration from Xavier University and served as the high school Assistant Principal for 3 years. He and his wife, Rene' have been married 34 years and have two children, Sara and Joe. Joe is a 2002 graduate of Indian Hill High School. |
